7 Hours To Go movie revolves around the story of a man who comes to Mumbai looking for work and is an eyewitness to a murder. He ends up taking seven hostages and has only seven hours to figure out the mystery behind the crime.

The film story is inspired by the scene in The Godfather where a bruised Michael Corleone plots revenge against the corrupt policeman McCluskey. Menon stated that he has portrayed cops as heroes but the cop is the antagonist.

Manjima Mohan Replaces Pallavi
By end December 2013, reports stated that Pallavi Sharda had signed a two film contract with Photon Kathaas and would feature as the lead female in the film. However, Menon clarified that it was not Pallavi Sharda, but another actress Pallavi Subhash. He conducted a screen test, auditions and a ten-day workshop before signing her for the film. Malayalam actress Manjima Mohan was signed as Pallavi Subhash opted out of the film. Baba Sehgal was chosen to portray a negative role as a cop.
Though principal photography commenced in November 2013, in June 2014, filming schedules were postponed until Menon completed his other project Yennai Arindhaal with Ajith Kumar. The film is simultaneously made in Telugu as Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo with Naga Chaitanya.

In an interview with TOI, Harbhajan Mann stated that Saadey CM Saab is a take on politics and is a great mix of comedy, action and emotions. “I play a different character. It is a story of three village friends who go through an unexpected thrilling journey in one month while empowering my character of Yuvraj reach the position of CM.”

In November 2015, Ashwini Iyer Tiwari agreed terms to direct a remake of her Hindi film, Nil Battey Sannata in Tamil, for producers Dhanush and Anand L. Rai. Dhanush had been shown a preview of the film by Rai, during a visit to Mumbai in September 2015 and the duo chose to co-produce the film, with Ashwini Iyer retained as director.
Amala Paul and Revathi were signed on to play the leading roles, while Samuthirakani also accepted to portray another pivotal role in the film. The film began production during early January 2016, with a launch ceremony held in Chennai. On January 16, Dhanush roped in Ilaiyaraaja as the music-director of the film.
Hotshot Mahesh Babu will soon begin shooting for Brahmotsavam motion picture under the heading of SrikanthAddala who prior guided him in 'Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu'.
